Basic InformationDon Bosco High School, Matunga is a all-boys school affiliated with the Maharashtra Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education. The school offers education from kindergarten to class X.
The school traces its origin to the The Catholic Educational Institute which was established by the Salesians of Don Bosco in Tardeo, Bombay in 1928. The school was housed in a rented building called Tardeo Castle. In 1937, the general council of Salesians of Don Bosco approved a plan to buy 60,000 square yards land in Matunga from the Bombay Municipal Corporation.
The Corporation approved the sale on July 16, 1937. The Don Bosco High School moved from the rented premises at Tardeo to the new Don Bosco campus at Matunga and the school was officially inaugurated on January 31, 1942.
